Well.. twitter wasn't enough. I needed more room to write out my thoughts.. 140 characters just wasn't cutting it.
A little background on me-
I’m
19 years old, 5’9” and 155 pounds. My
freshman year of high school I came in at a whopping 90 pounds soaking wet, and
I thought I’d be a great addition to my school’s lacrosse team. Months later, after getting laid out more
times than I have fingers and toes, I decided things needed to change. I needed to gain weight, and I needed to get
a hell of a lot stronger. A friend of
mine introduced me to the weight room in my local YMCA, and together he and I
began to body-build. Its not just about
lifting weights, in fact… the action of lifting weights is catabolic (muscle
destroying). The rest of bodybuilding is
eating, resting, eating, and eating. Did
I mention all the eating? It began
slowly, with the analysis of how many calories I was taking in daily. It was probably somewhere around 1500-2000
calories a day… something that is laughed at in the bodybuilding world. These days, I’m sitting at 3000+ calories a
day, eating 4-6 meals that are spaced out to allow a maximum anabolic body
state. I'm a sophomore in college now,
and hey… I’m 65 pounds heavier than I was 5 years ago. In the natural bodybuilding world, that’s
pretty decent.
While I thought I just wanted to get bigger to gain a little more respect from my peers and superiors.. I've surpassed that idea. I've gained the respect I've wanted but now.. the spark the drove me to start lifting his ignited a fire that pushes me to pursue a new dream. I will win a pro card.
I hope I inspire you to commit to your fitness goals and really.. any dream you want to accomplish in life. If you want it bad enough.. and you're willing to do whatever it takes.. it will happen.
